Half of Newton's street trees vanished since 1970, impacting climate and community. Only 48% of land had tree canopy in 2017. Cutting healthy trees hurts everyone, affecting air quality, drainage, energy efficiency, and health.

Join us to protect Newton's trees:

Safeguard all trees 6" DBH and larger
Apply consistent rules citywide
Notify neighbors about tree removal plans
Shield trees from construction damage
Require assessment by Certified Arborist for removal
Demand strict penalties for violations
